Located on the banks of the Igarapé do Papagaio, in the rural area of Manaus, the Beach House is a project for two families to share memories in a place with abundant nature. The project is implemented in blocks arranged alternately on the land, producing a continuity from the beach to a sand patio between the blocks, on the land's plateau. The social and intimate environments are distributed across the three main blocks, which are constructively very similar to each other. In the other two accessory blocks are the service environments. The living room and kitchen are in the main block closest to the river, in a stilt building with a mixed structure. The foundations are in reinforced concrete. The pillars that are flooded during the river's high season are made of exposed reinforced concrete and from them derive a massive slab for the balcony and beams supporting the internal wooden floor, which has open joints for subtle air ventilation. On the habitable floor, in continuity with the concrete pillars, there is a timber portico structure, and above this the timber structure of the roof. The wood used is from native Amazonian trees and comes from forest management practices.
