Encounters

Abstract

“The diagrams below are part of a process of understanding some encounters with workers on General Jardim Street – about work and street: for each encounter, a diagram. They function as tool to arrange an encounter and think about it in a more sensitive and subjective way, to have material vestiges of an immaterial movement: the diagrams, besides serving as attempt to organize a still not organized, not articulated, not thought of moment, serve essentially as clew. All attempts to record and analyse the encounters were made from meetings with two people. As each of us was already several, it was already a lot of people – it was throughout this course of drawing that I have recognized my various selves in others and through others. In the end, I have arrived here, where it is no longer important to speak or not to speak about the self.”
