Rammed earth building systems: panorama of Latin America in the last 30 years and its historical references

Abstract

The research presented in this paper was devoted to understanding the typological potential of construction systems for rammed land in order to raise the debate about using this as a building material. Recognizes the most primitive construction systems of humankind as a durable technology related to conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, the construction of architecture of low environmental impact and the contemporary architectural production. The systematization of contemporary production indicates how the systems and techniques have been exploited in traditional and contemporary production and give reflective conditions regarding repertoire and renovation of architectural production in raw land.
