Grandma’s house

Abstract

This essay was produced during the first semester of 2023 for the subject Means of Expression and Representation taught by professors Gilberto Mariotti, Joana Barossi, and Luciana Ligeiro. The purpose of the work was to describe a fictional space using writing and photography. Utilizing images from family archives of one of the group members, we decide to write the essay about grandma’s house. Our intention was to describe the space beyond its physical structure, delving intoissues related to the imaginary, the sensorial, and the memory, covering themes such as mourning, gender, and social class.
