Chan Chan, capital de tierra: un estudio de Arquitectura y Urbanismo por nuevas ópticas

Este artículo busca abordar la historia y la historiografia de Chan Chan, la capital del Imperio Chimú, fundada en el siglo IX, en la costa norte del actual Perú y la mayor ciudad construida enteramente con tierra, con el propósito de diseminar y sistematizar el acervo de conocimiento existente acerca de la ciudad, y así, incentivar más investigaciones en ámbito nacional, prácticamente inexistentes hasta entonces. El trabajo, realizado con una beca de Fapesp y parte de las iniciativas del Proyecto Joven Investigador Barroco-Açu (2021/06538-9) en FAU-USP, tuvo como objetivo trazar el perfil histórico de la ciudad, en paralelo con un estudio de los autores y trabajos que abordan el tema y avanzan las investigaciones. Así, se busca resaltar la importancia de reconocer y valorar la riqueza cultural y arquitectónica de las civilizaciones indígenas amerindias, como un instrumento de enseñanza fundamental a los tiempos actuales.
