Mother Sylvia da Oxalá: struggle and history to patrimonialize the first Candomblé terreiro in the state of São Paulo.

The histories of the city of São Paulo are made with processes of creating the desired reality with the imposition of the impressions of the power groups, destroying and constructing their ideals and writing and forming the memory by erasing the histories with the writing of a new history. In this article, the result of master's research, we present a fragment of the cultural heritage of the city of São Paulo, which is the Axé Ilê Obá terreiro, and the very strong female presence of Yalorixá Mãe Sílvia de Oxalá, who played a major social role in the black movements of São Paulo in the eighties and nineties, where she accompanied the process of democratic reestablishment of the country, exercising a strong representation, both of the Candomblé terreiros and of the black population before the municipal bodies. This study analyzes the architecture of Axé Ilê Obá, which was the first Candomblé terreiro in the city of São Paulo to be listed by the Council for the Defense of Historical, Archaeological, Artistic and Tourist Heritage (CONDEPHAAT) in 1990, under the management of this yalorixá between 1986 and 2014. This work aims to uncover facts that are commonly overlooked, thus enabling them to be part of the real construction of the city.
