América - Journal of Graduate Program of Escola da Cidade is Qualis B1
In its first evaluation by the Capes area commission, America receives an excellent score
As a stage of its Quadrennial Evaluation of Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Courses existing in the country, Capes (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel / Ministry of Education) has carried out, since 1988, the evaluation of scientific journals mentioned in the production of teachers and students of courses in analysis. Called Qualis, this assessment points to the quality and relevance (based on metrics and impact factors) of scientific journals produced in Brazil and other countries for each specific area.
In the Qualis 2017-2020 assessment of the area of Architecture, Urbanism and Design – the result of which was only made available in 2023 due to the pandemic – América - Revista da Pós-Graduação da Escola da Cidade underwent this analysis for the first time and received a B1 grade.
The current division of Qualis considers high-impact journals to be A (1-4); B (1-4) medium impact magazines; C low impact; and NP without impact. Receiving the highest score among medium impact magazines in the first evaluation was, therefore, something that made us very proud!
