House to the Horizon

Abstract

As part of the dossier “Atlantic: Transits, Memories and Perspectives” – which, based on discussions in the graduate courses at Escola da Cidade, poses questions for the critical debate of past, present and future relations between America, Africa and Iberian Peninsula – the architectural reflection “House to the horizon” is presented as a strategy for approaching a design that focus on the landscape of Madeira Island and the characteristics of its territory.
